Have you ever tried checking your website on the free SEO tools available out there?
For all of us operating on Blogger, whenever we try that, it usually gives back an error regarding the declared language.
This is not a problem for other platforms like Wordpress, where the language is automatically included in the HTML code as soon as the owner sets it up from the front end.
Further, if you are targeting International traffic at your website, then it is very important that the search engines recognize the language from the code itself. Search engines do not always spend time detecting the language of a blog
Though it will not have a huge impact on the SEO of your website, but why leave a stone unturned when it comes to SEO
